The Tiny Homes TG, chaired by Claude Gautreau, began with an overview of its operating procedures and terms of reference. A roadmap of the TG was presented with three major milestones to complete:

1. Perform an analysis of what a tiny home is (what is defined as one, and what size can one be before it is too big or small),
2. Develop new requirements or adaptations to existing requirements for tiny homes,
3. Develop an illustrated guide for tiny homes.

Analysis was chosen as the first step, as there is no standard for what a tiny home is, and their use and size vary widely. The TG has asked for submission of materials from members and observers to review literature related to tiny homes, focused on definitions, tiny home design and environmental impact, supported by scientific and reliable data. If scientific data is lacking in the review, a field study may be conducted with tiny home residents. 

Themes present with the members and observers during discussion were the affordability of building and owning a tiny home, legalization of existing tiny homes without gentrification, overcrowding, and whether mobile homes would be considered a tiny home.
