The Latest in Marketing for Homes: Virtual Tours to Homeowner Stories

Awards

When it comes to marketing for homes across Canada, projects in the 2020 Marketing Awards category of the CHBA National Awards for Housing Excellence remain a gold standard of creativity, design, branding and advertising techniques.

This year, we are seeing many campaigns with unique concepts that cater to new customer experiences, including virtual reality, beautiful and informative digital and print campaigns, and vibrant interior design.

Let’s take a look at some of the latest in marketing for homes!

Customer Interactions & Virtual Tours

Big, bold and beautiful imagery continues to dominate many of this year’s finalist websites. The projects that builders and renovators are showcasing are just one way they’re aiming to build confidence in potential clients of their expertise and abilities. See how Empire Communities guides their customers to choose the neighborhood best suited to their lifestyle needs with a unique lifestyle quiz. This is a great way to engage your audience and personalize their experience with your brand. On the other side of the spectrum, Hayers Builders Group focuses on beautiful, simple and functional design with its menus and visuals. Expect to be wowed with beautiful imagery, virtual tours, and creativity when you navigate through the websites of this year’s finalists!

Design Savvy, Multi-Functional Sales Offices

When it comes to Sales Office design, a common trend this year was to attract the modern customer by enhancing their experience with contemporary lobbies, futuristic design, and innovative technology. Realistic model tables, touch screens, and virtual reality experiences are just some of the new technology captured in the sales offices of the 2020 finalists marketing for homes. As much as technology was a focus, interior design didn’t take a back seat in any of these spaces. In the photo below, see how Distrikt Developments and Figure3 created this unique sales space, drawing inspiration from fashion designer Ted Baker by combining strong patterns and large floral decorative prints.

Engaging Lifestyle Videos

This year’s finalists for best video took their marketing strategy to the next level by creating unique content that is compelling, entertaining and informative. Who doesn’t want to peek inside what life might look like after purchasing your dream space? Aside from beautiful room and development scenes, finalists put a creative spin on showing what life looks like beyond the sale from aspirational lifestyle scenes to humanizing the design process through personal interviews.

Interior Decorating

This year we see a departure from minimalist design and a focus on more artistic, lively spaces that are unashamed to be vibrant, bold, and full of character! A big trend we are seeing is texture being used to add interest to rooms, with layers of details and lots of mixed elements: rich woods, polished surfaces and saturated colors. Creating smarter storage and display space was a trend that was used throughout the finalist entries this year, making rooms appear more spacious and creating more of a focus on the living areas, perfect for those open plan kitchens.
