Blog Post: Buying New? Consider a Net Zero Home

Energy efficiency has quickly become a top consideration for new home buyers. In fact, CHBA’s Home Buyer Preference Survey shows that energy efficiency features like high-efficiency appliances and windows are frequently among the top 10 features homeowners are looking for in their homes year-over-year. This has led to a growing popularity in Net Zero Homes, with over 3,600 homes now labelled under CHBA’s Net Zero Home Labelling Program. If you’re not familiar with Net Zero Homes, you might be wondering why more home buyers are interested in purchasing one. Or maybe you’re someone who already prioritizes energy efficiency in your daily life, and you want to know how you can take the next step in your journey. In this blog post, we break down why homebuyers should consider a Net Zero Home for their next home purchase.

Be sure to share using @CHBANetZero and #CHBANetZero so that more homeowners and homebuyers will learn about Net Zero Homes! Visit our website here to read more of our Net Zero blog posts. You can also find and share all our Net Zero blog posts (geared towards consumers) via our four social media accounts; LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and X.
