Since they first opened their doors in 1976, the tools and styles have changed, but their foundation remains the same. TOWARDS NET ZERO RENO ROADMAP BOOTCAMP 2.0 WAS A SUCCESS!

The CHBA led, NRCan funded “Towards Cost-Effective Net Zero Energy Ready Residential Renovations” initiative held its second dynamic “big tent” event in Ottawa, Ontario, at the end of January. Over 130 participants from across Canada discussed and workshopped the Towards Net Zero Roadmap, dove into virtual and physical tools, resources, optimization, and building science proofed phasing of high-performance retrofits. We heard from project teams and Federal and Municipal representatives. With over 350 residential units involved, this event informed on process and value, from resiliency to scaling - what has worked, what was the biggest lift, where we are going as an industry, and how this industry can level the road to Net Zero. Training Rebates: $400 per course!

Great news: Training rebates/discounts to help prepare the industry for future building codes are continuing to be offered in 2026! Instructor-led courses are delivered by CHBA Qualified Net Zero Service Organizations and new e-learning options are available 24/7/365 through CHBA. This federally funded opportunity is for the restoration, renovation or transformation of an existing building and/or exterior space intended for community use. It provides funding through the Department of Canadian Heritage for community-initiated capital projects.
