Last call for the Renovation Market Index: Please encourage your renovators to fill in the survey

In late November, CHBA launched its pilot Renovation Market Index (RMI) survey to increase membership value for our renovator members. Similar to the HMI, the RMI will be a sentiment indicator on the renovation industry, given renovators an opportunity to share their on-the-ground experience and the association another advocacy tool. To accurately reflect markets across Canada and keep the strength of the results high for future surveys, we need the highest number of respondents as possible. CHBA is asking EOs if they could please send a version of the below email to a handful of your most engaged renovator members to ensure we get optimum information on your region. Suggested email text for you to copy and paste is below. Note that while we were aiming to close down the survey by December 19th, we are short responses in some regions which will prevent breaking down the RMI results regionally. As a result, the survey collector will be left open over the holidays to gather as many responses as we can, and we’re looking for your help accordingly. If you have any questions, please email CHBA’s Economist, Evan Andrade.

Dear X, As an active member in our association who does home renovations, we are hoping that you provide us with feedback on what you’re experiencing in your business in terms of current customer demand and what you expect in the near-term by participating in CHBA’s newly launched Renovation Market Index (RMI). By spending five minutes or less answering the questions, you will provide our HBA and the entire association with another advocacy tool to use in bringing your issues to light with the media and policymakers. And the only way we can regional information is if we get enough responses—otherwise we’ll only have national data, which is good, but less useful for us regionally if we differ from the national averages. You can fill in the survey directly here, or learn more about it here. We would greatly appreciate your input.

HBA PROMOTIONAL TOOLKIT NOW AVAILABLE
Being able to offer training rebates is a great value-add for your membership retention and recruitment efforts. CHBA has now put together a marketing toolkit to help HBAs looking to promote the training rebates or discounts that are currently available thanks to funding provided by NRCan through CHBA’s “Enabling Tiered Codes – Implementation and Market Preparedness” project. If your members are considering upskilling their team, there’s no better time than now, as $400 rebates or discounts are available for these courses: Net Zero Market Advantage, Advanced Building Science, Net Zero Builder, Net Zero Renovator, and Net Zero for Building Officials. The toolkit contains an overview of how this funding results in very affordable courses for members, sample social media posts, graphics for your newsletters, banner ads, and more. If you could benefit from additional resources to help you share this information with your members, please let us know.

It’s RenoMark Renewal Time

The annual renewal process is a crucial step in maintaining the credibility of the RenoMark program with homeowners. This is also an opportunity for members to enhance their listing on the recently updated RenoMark website by taking advantage of new features like project types, client testimonials, project photos, and more. This process should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Please remind your members to complete their RenoMark renewal by December 31, 2025 to maintain their RenoMark membership.
