Call for Expression of Interest: Host the 2026 EOC PDF
The EOC Management Committee is accepting expressions of interest from local or provincial associations that desire to “host” the EOC Professional Development Forum in 2026. This year’s PDF is next month in St. John’s, NL, so as per tradition, next year we are looking to host on the other side of the country (Manitoba and west) since the CHBA Home Building Week in Canada conference will be held in Quebec City, PQ in May 2026. The PDF typically takes place in mid-June, but exact dates are not yet set. It’s a great chance to show off your town and all it has to offer, and for your staff to attend the event. Please indicate your interest by returning the Expression of Interest Form no later than July 30, 2025 to the CHBA National Office at (eoc@chba.ca).

Federal Election Update and Webinar
The Liberal Party of Canada has been re-elected to a fourth mandate under new leader Mark Carney, securing a minority government. The Prime Minister faces significant tasks ahead, including naming a new Cabinet and familiarizing ministers with their departments. CHBA anticipates continued implementation of its recommendations from the 2024 Budget and the Canada Housing Plan, and has been actively engaging deputy ministers and preparing to brief new ministers on housing issues. Assessments of the Liberal Party’s housing platform can be found at affordability.ca and will form the basis of ongoing conversations about the areas CHBA supports, as well as the areas where we have concerns. For a detailed analysis of the election and future implications, register for CHBA’s Post-Election Webinar happening later today (May 8, 2025).

Reminder: update your HBA’s calendar and add eoc@chba.ca to your newsletter’s distribution list so CHBA is aware of your HBA’s activities, too!
