Survey for Hail and Basement Flooding Resilience Measures

SURVEY DEADLINE: MARCH 17
The Resilient Homes Task Force (RHTF) is a collaboration between CHBA and the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR)’s for developing practical, evidence-based solutions to make homes more resilient to the impacts of climate change and extreme weather. As part of this effort, the RHTF is conducting surveys with renovators & builders to identify barriers and the most effective solutions for protecting homes from hail and basement flooding. The two surveys linked below invite interested builders and renovators to share their project experiences. The purpose of the survey is to understand which resilience measures may be the most effective, whether builders or renovators already routinely apply any resilience measures, and if there are alternative measures that are also effective. For those who build/renovate homes in regions prone to experiencing hail, click here. Marketing Advice from the Experts

In the ever-evolving world of marketing, keeping current and having a strategy is crucial for renovators. Even smaller businesses can “benefit from a marketing strategy to keep them visible to prospective clients and to ensure that they have a continuous flow of new leads” said Dion Widrich, President of NGEN Communications Inc. When it comes to spend, the industry standard marketing budget is between 2-3% of total annual revenue. “A well-designed website with high quality photography and an intuitive user experience is the number one priority. Your website is the point of first contact for most prospects so that first impression is key,” said Widrich. Lianne McOuat, Principal and VP Strategy at McQuat Partnership also stressed the importance of digital advertising, especially search engine cost-per-click marketing. She added that renovators should focus on strong regional SEO (search engine optimization) as well as a strong email lead nurturing campaign. Looking for more marketing insights?
