HBA Success Stories - A BILD GTA Government Relations Win
In October, the Ontario Ministry of Energy and Electrification announced significant steps to shape Ontario's energy future, culminating in the introduction of the Affordable Energy Act. This legislation aims to reduce electrification costs for newly built homes, expand energy infrastructure, and establish a new integrated energy framework. A key component of the act grants the government authority to regulate last-mile connections, addressing one of the most time-consuming and costly aspects of home electrification. This progress, championed by BILD GTA through two years of advocacy, represents a major win for the home building and energy sectors in Ontario. Want to have your success story featured? Submit your story at any time to Kelly MacLaren at Kelly.maclaren@chba.ca; please note some editing may be required.
